Workers' Compensation

Workers’ Compensation laws are designed to ensure that employees who are injured on the job are provided with fixed monetary awards, eliminating the need for litigation.
In general, workers compensation provides replacement income, medical expenses, and rehabilitation benefits.
Nearly every worker or employee in New York State is covered under these laws. Many independently paid workers or contractors (e.g. taxi drivers or employees of construction sub- contractors) are also covered. You may also be eligible for life-long benefits or a lump sum payment if you are permanently injured while on the job. These laws also provide benefits for dependents of those workers who are killed because of work-related accidents or illnesses.
If you have any issues in this regard, it is best to speak to an experienced New York Workers' Compensation attorney.
